moment with Bob and David from HBO’s Mr. Show. . .
[Brian,
David, Bob, John, Jay, and Paul (who’s dressed as a Hobo) are
sitting, eating.]
David:
And that was a list of the people who helped out with the story.
Rest:
Ooh.
Bob:
What a great story.
John:
You know...wait wait. Do you guys remember that show we were all
in together...Mr. Show?
Bob:
No.
Brian:
Mr. Show?
John:
Yeah.
Bob:
I don’t remember it...
[All talk over one another.]
John:
You were in it. Yeah, it was all sketches.
[All "yeah."]
Bob:
I was there?
John:
Yes. You and David.
Bob:
Really?!
[David’s thinking, but doesn’t remember.]
Paul:
Mr. Show with Bob and David!
John:
...with Bob and David.
David:
Get outta here! Who was who?
Paul:
You were David!
John:
Oh my God, it’s so great. It starts off, right, with this, yeah,
with this girl with the blond hair. She comes in, she doesn’t
even seem real, she’s so...so cool. She comes in and she goes,
"Hey everybody! It’s Bob and David!"
Bob:
Go on!!
John:
I swear to God! And then...
[Bob playfully beats John up.]
Bob:
I hate you...
"The
Big Day"
[Bob
sleeping in bed...rolls over to hit the snooze button when the
alarms buzz. David sings accompanied by piano.]
[6:30: Buzz.]
David: You wake up in the morning
A busy day is dawning
It’s time to grab for all that you can
But a few more Zzs
Is what you need
To get you through the day
[6:45: Buzz.]
Alarm goes off again
You gotta get out there and win
You just need a little more time
To be at the best for your claim (?)
[3:33: Buzz.]
The afternoon is here
And now you’re in high gear
You stay in bed all day
Like an eagle hunting prey
[12:00]
Until at last it’s midnight
And it’s time to take that ride
Mr. Show with Bob and David
Comes on HBO
[Bob still in bed, grabs for the remote.]
Friday nights at midnight
The time to watch it all...
[Bob watching the clips shown of the second season, laughs and
cheers.]
